HM King Charles III has conferred upon Alec Shelbrooke the honour of Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire (KBE) for public and political service.
On receiving a knighthood, Sir Alec commented: "I'm extremely grateful to the many colleagues who support me in my role as a Member of Parliament and Leader of the UK Delegation to the NATO Assembly, especially our NATO Clerk and my hardworking parliamentary team. But without the support of my constituents over the last fourteen years I would not have been able to do the job that is most rewarding: representing fellow residents in the House of Commons. Thank you for your continued support and kind messages in recent days".
